Quasi is an indie rock band from Portland, Oregon consisting of ex-husband and wife team Sam Coomes (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Janet Weiss (also drummer for Sleater-Kinney). They began playing together with San Francisco's Donner Party, then relocating to Portland to form Motorgoat with Brad Pedinov. Brad left in 93 and forged Sam and Janet on as Quasi. They have opened for and served as the backup band for Elliott Smith (with whom Coomes toured in Heatmiser). Quasi is also the name for a dutch leftfield drum 'n bass producer/dj.
