Gavin Friday (born Fionan Hanvey in Dublin, 8 Oct 59). In early life, he survived a Christian Brothers education to become a singer, composer and painter. A founder of Virgin Prunes (legendary avant-garde post-punk group), Between 1987 and 2005 he composed and performed with his musical partner, Maurice Seezer. Gavin is currently working on a new solo album with writing partner Herbie Macken. Gavin Friday And The Man Seezer albums (recorded with Maurice), include: Each Man Kills The Thing He Loves, Adam n' Eve, and Shag Tobacco. Film scores and soundtracks include Get Rich or Die Tryin', In America, In the Name of the Father, The Boxer, Disco Pigs, Short Cuts and Romeo + Juliet. Gavin worked with producer Hal Willner on the music for director Abel Ferrera's movie Chelsea on the Rocks (2008).
