Alison Krauss is the powerhouse in front of the band Alison Krauss & Union Station. A bluegrass singer and virtuoso fiddle player who grew up in Champaign, Illinois, Krauss signed with Rounder Records at 14, released her first album Too Late To Cry at age 16 and now counts 10 studio records to her name. Alison Krauss is the winner of 26 Grammy awards, making her The Recording Academy's most honored female recording artist. In addition to her work on movie soundtracks such as O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Cold Mountain, Alison is also a record producer (Nickel Creek, The Cox Family, Alan Jackson) and has contributed as an instrumentalist or vocalist on albums of every genre-classical, jazz, pop, country, bluegrass and even polka. In 2007 she made 'Raising Sand' with Robert Plant, the lead singer of Led Zeppelin -they are touring together this year.
